Handheld recrystallized silicon carbide grinding tool for smoothing pot bottoms and cleaning Advancer® kiln shelves.

Made of the Same Durable Material as our Grinding Disk, the GlazeEraser® Hand Tool is ideal for glaze removal/touch up on small, hard to reach areas of pots. It will not leave any marks or scratches even on white porcelain clay bodies. Cleaned surface areas will be smooth to the touch.
Ideal for Cleaning ADVANCER® the GlazeEraser® Hand Tool cleans ADVANCER® kiln shelves without leaving rough scratches that are usually left by bricks and coarse shelf rubbing blocks.
All four surfaces and ends may be used as grinding surfaces. Rinse tool with water to free accumulated glass and debris. May be used wet or dry!

Important Safety $ Storage Requirements for Advancer Shelves:
Slow and medium firing cycles are recommended for most ADVANCER® Shelves. We do not recommend exceeding 325ºF (163ºC) per hour from ambient temperature up to 1000ºF (538ºC). We do not recommend exceeding 325ºF (163ºC) per hour during cooling from 1000ºF (538ºC) to ambient temperature. Force cooling, propping the kiln lid open and pulling peeps is not recommended. Dense loads such as solid sculpture or thick tile may require slower ramp rates. Do not allow direct flame impingement, place shelves away from burner ports, fireboxes, stoking slots and bag walls. Opening ports on the kiln or failure to follow the recommended ramp and cooling rates can result in thermal shock failure (cracked or broken shelves) from rapid temperature changes.
